Khao San Road In Bangkok

Khao San Road - The popular book 'The Beach' famously described Khao San Road as "the centre of the backpacking universe". Judging by the truth-seeking travellers who converge here to shop, exchange tales and prepare for their next stint on the backpacker trail, it's a phrase that sums it up pretty much perfectly. Packed into a 1km long strip are countless budget guesthouses and mid-range hotels, internet cafes, swanky bars and clubs, restaurants, massage parlours, travel agents, bookshops, market stalls, tattoo shops and much, much more. So much in fact, that the people, peddlers and party spirit have spilled over into nearby Soi Rambuttri. With its carefree, anything-goes vibe, it's quite unlike anywhere else in Bangkok, and so infectious is its atmosphere it's also popular with locals, especially young hipsters and art students.

Temple Of Golden Buddha In Bangkok

The Golden Buddha, officially titled Phra Phuttha Maha Suwana Patimakon is a gold statue, with a weight of 5.5 tons (5,500 kilograms). It is located in the temple of Wat Traimit, Bangkok, Thailand.Located at the end of Chinatown's Yaowarat Road, near Hualampong Railway Station, Wat Traimit houses the world's largest massive gold seated Buddha measuring nearly five metres in height and weighing five and a half tons. In the past, artisans crafted the Buddhas in gold and disguised them from invading armies by a covering of stucco and plaster. At one end of Chinatown, in what was once an otherwise unremarkable temple of Wat Traimit, sits the world's largest solid gold Buddha image. Made of about 83% pure gold and weighing in at five and a half tons, the 15-foot tall seated image is worth millions of dollars at today's gold prices. The Buddha at Wat Traimit was discovered by accident when it was accidentally dropped as it was being moved, revealing, under a casing of plaster, a beautiful solid gold Sukhothai style Buddha. Pieces of the plaster are still kept on display. This temple is well known for its 3-metre tall, 5.5 tons solid gold Buddha image, constructed over 700 years ago during the Sukhothai period. Originally the gold image was covered with plaster to conceal it from the invading Burmese and was just rediscovered accidentally about 40 years ago.

Walking Street Pattaya – A true Sin City

Pattaya Walking Street is the biggest and busiest party hotspot in the whole of Thailand, with only a couple of the top places in Bangkok beating it for sheer volume and variety. A full kilometre from its high-tech gateway at the Beach Road end to the Bali Hai Plaza end, almost every building along its length is a nightclub, go-go bar, beer bar or restaurant. Each of the side streets – which span from Soi 14 to Soi 16, with a couple of uniquely named streets in between  is more of the same, making the whole southern end of the city into a warren of nightlife entertainments, with something for practically every taste. The remarkable thing about Pattaya Walking Street is that there is so much to see and do, and it is so densely packed that you could spend every night for a whole week there and, aside from having the mother of all hangovers, you would still be finding new places each and every evening.

Top 10 Destination in Thailand

One of the most popular tourism destinations in Southeast Asia, Thailand is a country with a fascinating history, a devout Buddhist culture and beautiful scenery that lures travelers from all over the world. For many cultural travelers it is a land of ancient temples, glittering spires and beautiful palaces. For sun-seeking hedonists it is a place to rejuvenate on palm-studded beaches that rim idyllic bays and islands.Bangkok, a huge metropolis replete with traffic and shopping centers worthy of any international capital, contrasts sharply with the rice paddies out on the plains, the idyllic villages in the hills and mountains or the beach-side reggae bars in Phuket. Bit it’s this very diversity that’s makes the country so appealing for so many, from burned-out executives who jet here to unwind at sybaritic five-star resorts, to backpackers who wander through to experience the local culture while staying at low-cost guesthouses in Bohemian-like Chiang Mai.

James Bond Island in Phang Nga Bay

This iconic set of islands used to be nothing more than a spot on the map in Ao Phang Nga National Park. But in 1974, when James Bond chose Khao Phing Kan as a hideout in The Man with the Golden Gun, this rarely visited limestone island became a popular destination frequented by travelers on boat tours.Along with the island's new fame came the threat of potential destruction of its natural beauty, so since 1998, it has been forbidden for boats to approach Ko Tapu, the 66-foot (20-meter) limestone rock that lies just off the shore, in order to stop the erosion of the limestone and eventual collapse.

Nightlife in Pattaya

11index

Since Pattaya’s “discovery” by U.S. soldiers in the early 1960s and its rapid transformation from an unknown sleepy fishing village to Asia’s hottest tourist destination, Pattaya has always been famous for its bustling nightlife.
Although the city has revamped its image significantly in recent years and is well on its way to establish itself also as a family-friendly destination, Pattaya’s notorious nightlife and red-light districts – with hundreds of bars and nightclubs – are certainly still Pattaya’s main attraction.
